Alyn Smith MP with Councillor Alasdair MacPherson and local volunteers in Cowie

Local volunteers joined Stirling’s newly-elected MP in Cowie for his first street surgery last weekend.

Alyn Smith was elected just last month with more than 50% of the vote here in the Stirling Constituency. He was joined by 10 volunteers and local Councillor Alasdair MacPherson.

Commenting, he said:
‘I’m grateful to those who volunteered their time with Councillor MacPherson and I on a typically damp January morning for this time of year. There has been a lot going on in Cowie lately, so it was good to get out there to speak to people on their doorsteps about the issues that they’ve been facing.’

‘I will be holding these street surgeries regularly, as well as continuing to meet with constituents by appointment too. It’s vital that I am there to listen to what people have to say, and to offer my help wherever I can.’

‘I’m in the process of recruiting constituency staff and putting my local office together properly. These things take time, however, in the meantime, constituents who wish to raise an issue with me can contact me by email: Alyn.Smith.MP@parliament.uk; or write to me: Office 15, STEP, Stirling, FK7 7RP.’
