Speech on Medical Cannabis

Prescriptions of medical cannabis can change the lives of millions of people in chronic pain. Here in Stirling, we have Scotland’s first medical clinic focussing on cannabis prescriptions, with all patient data feeding into NHS studies on the matter. I’d prefer to see drugs policy entirely devolved to the Scottish Parliament, but in the meantime I urge the UK Government to look at drugs through the prism of public health, rather than crime and justice. For millions in chronic pain, including constituents in Stirling, this technology could be life-changing.
