Yemen is in a desperate situation and the UK Government’s stance is grossly hypocritical. I call on the UK to institute an arms embargo to Saudi Arabia and to exempt Yemen from the planned 50% cut to aid.
The Commonwealth is a potentially useful forum that an independent Scotland would seek to join along with the EU and NATO, but I noted a lack of progress towards the aims of its 2013 charter on justice, democracy, human rights, tolerance, the rule of law and the promotion of women’s rights.
I asked the Prime Minister if he would like to apologise to the many thousands of students whose life horizons have been limited by the Government’s Erasmus replacement.
