My Response to Global Britain

My speech this week in the debate on the UK Government’s ‘Global Britain’ push.
I wish them well. But for me, the SNP and a growing number of Scots, this isn’t an agenda we subscribe to.
The very real loss of our rights as European citizens has been hard. The loss of the ERASMUS exchange programme is a heavy blow to our universities and students.
And the end to freedom of movement will have real, economic implications for Scotland.
For example, the need now for visas for Scotland’s creative industries, at a time when this sector is desperately looking towards options for recovery, is just wilful economic and cultural vandalism on the UK Government’s part.
Scotland’s future is independence in Europe.
