University of Stirling Swimmers Compete in British Swimming Championships

Stirling MP Alyn Smith was pleased to meet with champion swimmers at the University of Stirling, wishing them well ahead of British Swimming Championships – which also serves as the Olympic trials for the Paris 2024 Games.

The assembled athletes included medallists Duncan Scott, Lucy Hope, Katie Shanahan and Evan Jones.

Amidst the backdrop of the pool of the National Swimming Academy on the University of Stirling campus, Mr Smith heard more from family members and swimmers alike about their ambitions for Olympic glory in Paris.

Local Stirling MP Alyn Smith said:
‘Stirling is a hotbed of sporting success, and nowhere is this more prevalent than in our swimming champions. Competing in the Olympics is a huge honour in itself, and truly stands testament to the focus, determination and talent of these fantastic athletes – and the organisations and families behind them all the way. I wish Steven and every swimmer the very best of luck in the British Swimming Championships, and every success in Paris!’
