Alyn Smith MP Calls ‘Bingo!’ at Charity Night

Local Stirling MP Alyn Smith was left impressed after attending Carlton Bingo Stirling’s latest charity night at their Allan Park venue.

Aimed at raising money for Variety GB, a children’s charity who provide practical help that makes an immediate difference to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK, the bingo session was well attended and saw Mr Smith even have a go at calling out the numbers.

Winning £30 in a game afterwards, Alyn Smith donated the winnings to Strathcarron Hospice, who provide specialist end of life care, love and support to people across Forth Valley living with a terminal illness.

Local Stirling MP Alyn Smith said:

‘Bingo has a special place in the hearts of so many in Stirling, providing a great sense of community and inclusion. I was delighted to attend Carlton Bingo’s charity night and help raise money for a worthwhile cause indeed – and was very happy to immediately donate my own winnings to a local charity doing heartfelt work across Stirling.

‘I highly commend Robert and his team for their fabulous operation, and I’m glad my brief career as a bingo caller brought as many laughs as it did. After the pandemic, social isolation remains a real problem in society as a whole. Bingo remains a real source of joy and fun for communities across Stirling, and I wish the local team all the very best in future.’
