Local Stirling Business Delights With Flavours and Attention to Quality

MP for Stirling Alyn Smith has delivered another nomination for a fantastic local business to become one of ‘Alyn’s Local Heroes’ – Milk & Honey.

Owners Andy and Steve run the local ice cream business from Riverside, starting over lockdown and now proudly serving Stirlingshire with high quality, home-made ice-cream and sorbet. As well as a door-to-door home delivery service, they have partnered with restaurants and businesses in the city itself and surrounding communities, whilst also covering wholesale and events such as weddings.

Milk & Honey are the latest business to have received nominations from the public to become one of ‘Alyn’s Local Heroes’ – local organisations, charities or businesses which ‘champion Stirling as a great place to live, work, study and visit’.

Milk & Honey Co-Owner Andy Laing said:

‘Making high quality products with a personal touch has been extremely rewarding in its own right, and I’m delighted to hear local residents have put us forward for this award. It’s been a labour of love – my good friend Steve’s craftsmanship really does speak for itself, with fantastic flavours and combinations every week.

‘Our families have both pitched in to help get us started, and we’re so proud to be working with excellent restaurants and businesses across Stirling to boost tourism and promote the place we call home. I’d like to thank Alyn for this award, and the members of the public who nominated us!’

Alyn Smith MP said:

‘Milk & Honey are an absolute hit with businesses and customers across Stirling. Their attention to craft and quality is obvious from the first spoonful of their delicious ice-cream and sorbet. Stirling is home to such ingenuity, innovation and expertise, and nowhere is this more obvious than in our world-class food and drink sector.

‘Tourism is key to promoting sustainable growth in our local economy, and businesses like Milk & Honey are essential in pushing us forward as a must-see destination – as well as a great place to live, work, study and visit. Small businesses are the lifeblood of Scotland, and in these tough economic times we can all play our part by buying local and celebrating them wherever we can.
