School Recognised in Times Top 10

Local Stirling MP Alyn Smith has congratulated Dunblane High School, after it featured in the top 10 of a national education league table.

Coming in at 7th place from the 342 state institutions in Scotland, Dunblane High School has maintained its position of excellence from 2021. The Times High School League Table ranks institutions according to the percentage of pupils receiving the ‘gold standard’ of five Highers in the previous academic year, with Dunblane achieving an impressive 75%.

In a letter to headteacher Stuart MacKay, Mr Smith praised staff and teachers for their unwavering commitment to the educational prospects of their pupils.

MP for Stirling Alyn Smith said:

‘Fantastic news for Dunblane, and further evidence of Stirling’s strong educational credentials. Remaining in the top 10 of all state institutions across Scotland is one heck of an achievement, made even more impressive given the disruption of the past few years. I wish the staff team the very best as they prepare for another academic year, and urge Stirling Council to learn lessons from Dunblane’s performance, to share their best practice amongst Stirling’s excellent school network.’
