Alyn Smith MP with Stuart Miller in Food Train electric van

Stirling MP Alyn Smith has praised the Stirling Food Train for going electric with new vehicles for their delivery van fleet.

With four new electric vans, Stirling Food Train is doing their bit to reduce their carbon footprint and tackle climate change.

Mr Smith met with Stuart Miller, Food Train Regional Manager, to discuss the work that they do locally and to see the new fleet.

Alyn Smith said:

“This really is such a special service that is offered to older people across our local communities. For many, the Food Train offers regular grocery delivery as well as contact from friendly faces in the shape of their team of dedicated volunteers.

“The new fleet of clean electric vans is a welcome investment into reducing the carbon footprint of the organisation. I had the opportunity to sit behind the wheel of one of these excellent vehicles.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with Stuart Miller and the local Food Train team, supporting the work that they do wherever I can.”
